Welcome to Pasir Ris Town Bedok | Tampines-Simei
Historical Origins
"Pasir Ris", a Malay name for "white sand", was used to describe the long stretch of sandy beach along the north-east coastline of Singapore
that faces Pulau Ubin. In the past, this beach was dotted with balmy coconut trees and mangrove swamps. The Pasir Ris area was formerly
low-lying and undeveloped land, except for a few kampongs and villages such as Kampong Pasir Ris, Kampong Bahru and the Chinese villages
at Elias Road.
Even in the 1950s, the Pasir Ris area was already a popular beach resort with a hotel and a beachfront that was ideal for picnics and
recreational sports like swimming and water skiing. Now, Pasir Ris New Town is one of the few HDB towns located at the coast with a
wide variety of
holiday resorts and chalets.

Location and Layout Pasir Ris New Town is located in the Eastern Region of Singapore. It is bounded by Sungei Serangoon on the west; Tampines Town to the south; Loyang/Changi to the east; and
the Serangoon Harbour to the north.

Transport Facilites
The town is easily accessible with a bus interchange and Pasir Ris MRT located at Pasir Ris Central.
It has excellent public transportation links and good access to major expressways (ECP, PIE, TPE). There are
plans for a new Rapid Transit Line to complement the existing East-West MRT Line and provide better accessibility between the eastern and central regions.

Housing Options Pasir Ris New Town is an established housing area with excellent amenities.
It offers a good selection of low, medium and high-density housing. Being a coastal town, Pasir Ris New Town possesses a resort ambience.
This combined with its proximity to resort facilities and the attractive flat architectural designs have made flats in Pasir Ris town highly
desirable to home owners.
Also, with more housing being planned around Pasir Ris MRT station, aspiring home buyers will soon enjoy greater transport convenience.
